Carderock Springs is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the Bethesda area. The neighborhood belongs to the National Register of Historic Places and has 275 homes built in the mid-century modern style between 1962 and 1966. The neighborhood was created by the architectural firms of Keys, Lethbridge, and Condon and developed by Edmund Bennett. The homes are effortlessly nestled into the wooded area and offer large windows with stunning views of the surrounding nature, blending living and outdoor space in the classic mid-century modern style.

The Carderock Springs Swim and Tennis Club is one of the main centers of the community. In the warmer months, the club bustles with activity as residents enjoy beautifully updated tennis courts and three outdoor pools for swimmers of all ages. The club also features swim lessons, pickleball, and family-friendly events.
 
If you’re in the mood for golf, the Congressional Country Club offers a challenging yet exciting course. Founded in 1921, the historic course offers perfectly manicured greens surrounded by Maryland's deep, rich forests. The club also features a clubhouse for relaxing, delicious restaurants, tennis, and a pool complex.

Another option for enjoying the outdoors is going for a hike. The Cabin John Trailhead is just a short drive from Carderock Springs and features four miles of trails for hiking, gravel biking, and horseback riding. Scott’s Run Nature Preserve features 336 acres of wooded waterfront area to explore. The preserve is popular for hiking, walking, and wildlife viewing.
